The beginnings of Marlborough CT can be traced back to the opening of Sadler's Ordinary Restaurant in 1648— the fabled stop is a local favorite for residents and visitors alike and is still in business today. Marlborough was incorporated in 1803 from land comprised of three of its surrounding towns: Glastonbury, Colchester & Hebron.
Marlborough Connecticut has taken on an aggressive plan to remake the center of town into a true Village Center. The plan is to provide residents with a community center that will be a combination of residential, retail and office space. Other prominent features of Marlborough CT include the scenic Lake Terramuggus and the recently renovated Blish Park.
Marlborough is bordered by to four towns: Glastonbury to the north, East Hampton to the west, Colchester to the south, and Hebron to the east.
